A few days ago, we had some AH-MEEZING spring weather, it felt like summer! I took advantage by heading over to the Union Square Green Market in NYC to find some produce. I stumbled on some gorgeous finds and this beautiful spinach was part of that! So buying a heaping bag of it was an obvious choice. No doubt, I’ve been using it in various ways, and since I’ll take any chance I can to sneak some greens into my smoothies… this spinach found it’s way into my blender contraption. So did: dates, almond butter, frozen banana, hemp milk and MACA powder!
After one sip, I was hooked. Between all the vitamins and nutrients I was slurping down plus the delicious taste, I was seeing stars. Now, I may have mentioned this in my last adventure using maca powder… but it’s described as tasting like butterscotch- I can get on that train of thought. There is something to it. It has essential minerals and alkaloids and gives you ENERGY! So this is a perfect morning smoothie. It’s also nicknamed “the food of the Gods” – so I dub this the Green Galaxy Smoothie!
The frozen banana makes a perfect consistency, the almond butter adds a creamy factor and the hemp milk is packed with protein as well as the almond butter. Needless to say, you should feel energetic and satisfied after sipping on this!

Love the name 🙂 I never heard of maca being called the food of the gods, but it is such a wonderful superfood I’m not surprised!
Oh yes… maca and cacao are apparently what the Gods eat… makes sense to me. 😉
This green drink feels like the epitome of spring in a glass! Love it!
