My Client Thought She Had to Do AIP to Heal Her Hashimoto’s… Here’s What We Did Instead

When my client, let’s call her Sarah, came to me, she was exhausted. Not just from her Hashimoto’s, but from trying to eat perfectly 24/7 (with little results to show for it).

She’d done multiple rounds of the AIP diet, trying to follow every rule. She was terrified to reintroduce anything. Still, she was bloated, foggy, and felt more disconnected from food than ever.

Why AIP Isn’t Always the Full Answer

AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) is a powerful tool, I’ve written about it, developed recipes around it, and used it myself. But it’s not a forever thing. As I’ve written on here before, 30-90 days is the absolute max and even that may not be what you need. We have to honor everyone’s uniqueness as the number 1 rule.

Sarah had been using AIP like a life sentence instead of a launching pad. And that wasn’t helping her body heal.

The truth is, healing Hashimoto’s (or any autoimmune condition) isn’t about being the most “perfect” AIP follower. It’s about creating a plan for your body’s real needs.

Just like Sarah, Molly came to me feeling stuck. She was basically a poster-child for AIP yet her healing had stalled… and food was getting stressful. After just a few weeks of working 1:1 together, she was reintroducing foods and finally enjoying meals again, with more energy and without the bloating and guessing. What We Did Instead

  • Gut motility and digestion: AIP wasn’t fixing the bloating, we had to look deeper at her gut terrain and functional labs
