What’s GI Hypochlorhydria? It’s low/weak stomach acid and it’s something I commonly see in my practice.

Common causes/contributors:
🦋Low thyroid function (hypothyroid and Hashimoto’s)
👀Standard American Diet or high sugar foods
🫣Rushed, mindless eating
👇Low zinc or B vitamins
💊PPI drug usage
😓Chronic stress

And because digestion is a north to south process and this is an Upper GI issue, we need to address this before and alongside treating any acute issues like dysbiosis and overgrowths or SIBO, Candida, H.Pylori and parasites or they’ll come right back.

Stomach acid is super important to both break down food and disinfect it before. We need it!

There’s a lot we can do from a holistic standpoint that needs to be happening regularly to both heal and maintain strong stomach acid and so much can unlock when it’s happening!

MYTH: elimination diets are going to solve all you

MYTH: elimination diets are going to solve all your health problems.

FACT: elimination diets are one small piece of the pie that can provide some relief WHILE you heal your gut, lower inflammation, and address root cause issues.

🚩If you’re not able to reintroduce some foods back in your diet, or if your food sensitivities are worsening… we have a problem. There is key healing that’s not happening AND/OR your nervous system is so thrown out of whack by all this that it’s reacting to more.🚩

I took the scenic route so you don’t have to (anymore)… here are my top tip:

1. First and foremost, check your attitude because if you’re in a rush to “fix” your body, we need to reframe and start asking WHY your health issues are actually here FOR you.

Because I will always believe that your healing journey can be your greatest personal development journey. You GET to take care of yourself, and your body isn’t broken so stop “fixing” it.

2. Know that if food is a source of stress for you, it’s not healing you and there’s so much more to how you repair a car than what type of gasoline you put in it, ya feel me?

Look at the other major components of your health like sleep, movement, stress management, circadian rhythm, etc.

3. Test DON’T Guess and get your LONG GAME into place. Using Dr. Google and doing this all alone is a great way to keep throwing spaghetti at the wall OR not addressing it holistically with your personal data.

On the flip, spending a boatload of money on fancy labs without having your foundations covered is another one-way ticket to frustration and burnout.
