Across the Blogiverse: Halloween, To-Do List and Naturally Sweet Recipes

Did anyone see the amazing FULL MOON this week? It was beautiful. It also made me a little nutty, I’m not saying I turn into a wolf or anything… but I can see how that myth came to be. If you believe it’s a myth that is 😉 HOWWWWWLLLLLL.

Halloween is this week and it’s so much fun here in NYC with all the decorations and costumes around, so festive! Which reminds me… I need to carve a pumpkin. I’m using this as a guide. Might stop after the sharpie step.

OK wait, no I’m not stopping after the sharpie step… because then I can’t make these BOMB looking Smoky BBQ Pumpkin Seeds from Skinny Taste! Hello, lovelies!

Speaking of things I have to do… this nifty guide from Food52 is helpful for keeping your herbs when it’s cold out. PERFECT timing!

Oh and herbs… they’re not just for eating you know. Amanda from Heartbeet Kitchen has an amazing DIY Hand Repair Cream with Lemongrass and Eucalyptus oil that looks like just what my dry skin needs this time of year! It puts the lotion on it’s skin you guys…

Happy Reading and HAPPY HALLOWEEN. I know we’ll all be around more sugar than usual the next few days… but LESS is more. Don’t go into sugar shock… try some of these fun and healthy (AND ALSO SWEET!) alternatives and stay away from shiny wrappers.

  • Raw Candy Corn Cheesecake (GF, DF) from Audrey at Unconventional Baker Blog – This is just so clever and fruity… I LOVE IT!
  • Chocolate addicts. I have your smoothie… and my smoothie, but I’ll share… Choc Banana Protein Smoothie (GF, DF) from Miss Marzipan has everything I could ever want in a cup!
  • If you like apples with peanut butter for a delicious snack, you will go crazy for these Peanut Butter Apple-Lanterns from Jackie at Vegan Yack Attack.
  • Oh and… did you see my Pumpkin & Hemp Oatmeal Cookies (GF, DF, V) from earlier this week? They’re so easy, chewy, sweet and delicious… I wish I could orb them to you now. Put that leftover pumpkin puree to good use and make these.

Have an amazing weekend!
