Across the Blogiverse: my thanksgiving menu & more!

Menu prep for Thanksgiving is well underway, the Google spreadsheet has been shared with my family members and guess who’s name is on it the most?

THIS GIRL.

So I’ve been dreaming up sides, adjusting some for allergies that my family and friends have, and seeing some major Thanksgiving food porn (which is some of the best in existence – no doubt) out there on the interwebs. That’s probably also been the highlight of this LOOOOONG week I’m having. I’m not sure if the darkness of the season really weighed in here in NYC this week or what, but I’ve been dragging. Somehow planning food perks me right up, so here I am, wide-eyed and bushy tailed and down to share some fabulous links with you. Oh, and I’m sharing my menu for my BIG family gathering this year!

Stay tuned on Instagram for photos of how that turns out… And if you make any of my recipes – they better get tagged… I want to see!! <3

BALSAMIC BEETS & GREENS
Recipe here. Both beet lovers and haters are welcome.  (GF + V)

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER W/ PESTO
Let’s be real, if you roast cauliflower the right way, anything you put on it will be amazing. But pesto, PESTO. You know…  (GF + V)

GARLIC MASHED POTATOES & GRAVY
The potatoes are a breeze, recipe here. Gravy… that’s TBD.  (GF + V)

CINNAMON ROASTED HASH
Sweet potatoes, squash and whatever else I find is going in this! You cannot go wrong, whether you make it on the stove or roasted. Add some honey and pepitas for an extra festive flair.  (GF + V)

CORNBREAD STUFFING
A new GF cornbread recipe is coming next week! For the stuffing, I’ll add veggies like: celery, onions, fresh herbs and vegetable stock on the stovetop.  (GF + V)

APPETIZERS

=========

CHEESE PLATE
What it sounds like! Vegan or otherwise, it’s not a holiday without a slate full of cheese <3

APPLE FRISEE SALAD
Something light, Fiji apples with delicate greens like frisee, raddichio, and baby kale with my mustard vinaigrette so no one is stuffed before the bird is carved…  (GF + V)

DEVILED EGGS
My Dad makes some mean deviled eggs with horseradish… I cannot reveal the recipe, because well, I don’t even know it. That’s his business. But try adding horseradish, it really takes it up a notch!! (GF)

DESSERT

=========

PECAN TART
EASY to make ahead & so delicious! (GF + V)

APPLE HAND PIES
Make the night before and form an assembly line to crank these beauties out. (GF + V)

CARROT CUPCAKES W/ MAPLE BUTTERCREAM
Get all Sagittarius up in here with these zodiac-inspired cupcakes from last year. No really, they’re ah-meezing. (GF + V)

    What a fabulous menu, Alison! So much delicious recipes So smart to share the planning on a spreadsheet. But I can relate… in the past, my name has shown up more often on the plan sheet. This year is different however! We’re actually going out to a little local farm to fork restaurant that is just fabulous! I’m so excited to get to be a bit lazy this year! Although, I will still bake a pie. Your Tgiving is going to be fabulous! The balsamic beet and greens sounds quite delicious! 😀
