And the best part? This sausage patty recipe is compliant with Paleo, Whole30, and AIP diets. This is one of my new all-time favorite recipes (and my toddler loves it too)!
Nixing eggs (or just need a break)? Try my popular Paleo Grain-free Porridge for Breakfast. It’s easy to whip up on a weekday morning or meal prep like “overnight oats”!
When I said these baked sausage patties were easy to make, I wasn’t lying! They only require one pound of ground pork and seven dried seasonings you probably keep stocked in your pantry:
If you prefer, you could swap the ground pork for ground poultry like chicken or turkey. This should not change the cooking time. Just opt for grass-fed, free-range meat when possible. Animals will have a better or worse fat quality depending on what they eat and how freely they can move.
When you decide to purchase and consume pasture-raised meat, consider sourcing your product directly from the farmer, as the price of grass-fed/pasture-raised meat can steeply vary from grocery store to grocery store. It’s also beneficial to connect with or at least know of the farms your meat comes from and the farmers who are raising those animals for your consumption.
Sourcing Tip: Grass Roots Coop is one of our favorite sources of sustainably-raised meats. Grass Roots farmers use regenerative agriculture, which means they replenish the nutrients in the soil rather than deplete them. Their rotational grazing practices also improves our environment and slows climate change. Using Grass Roots helps to take the guesswork out of finding farms that are “up to snuff” on their methods. I loved how easy these are to make! We always do breakfast sausage when we are camping with scouts, so I may have to try to bring these to the campout next time!
I’ve been cooking bacon in the oven for years, but never thought of sausage until now. It’s great and cutting down on the mess is a huge plus!
I have never tried making my own sausage but it sounds so easy and delicious I’m left wondering why! I can’t wait to have this for breakfast. It would be fantastic on an egg and cheese biscuit or just as a side with my usual. Thanks for the inspiration!
